well as some of you know i have moved from cornwall to manchester and i have had to down grade my tank to 120ltrs but after deliberation and some decoration i have been given permission by SWMBO to have a bigger tank

well i got offered a 130x50x50 tank by a member and i have now cleaned and stood it ready for the live rock i bought yesterday which i snopw curing in my 3ft tank for the min



well i have cleaned all the dead coraline off the tank and gave it steam clean









then draged it back in the house and put it on the stand





decided i wanted a backing picture instead of painting it this time just in the off chance i change my mind about the colour



so the move will happen tomorrow with the live rock and then i need to look at the lighting and how i am going to sump (probably wont drill it tbh)

And so it begins again kb

well got it all done today

started but getting the water out of the 3ft and into the new tank





then started to move the rocks over to the new tank and also got the sand in the tank





i then ran out of water and had to pop to abyss for some more





then ran out of water again and went back to abyss for some more



and finaly the tank is full lol



well this sort of shows the rock formation but i dont have a light above yet so get loads of reflections



well now it seems i have to go to stockport again so cant start on my light fittings just yet but should be finished tonight i hope

I hope you like it when it's finished lol.

right had a play with the lighting here is the blue leds just 2 strips

with the room lights on



and with the room lights off





well sorted out half of my main lights

also on a side note the wife has now got a matching coffee table lol and she says she dont like the tanks lol

Thats starting to look really good kb, nice neat sump too

well finished off the lights gone with 4 x t5's and 2x led's

so now i can start on the filtration side of it all

right so i have a new light now lol went the cheapest option available and they cost ?20 + new bulbs which they seem to run fine anyway altho one has to go back as the spectrum is wrong cant trust arcadia these days we will see how long the bulbs last just incase they dont do too well

am either going to go with a pelmit or go with a light cover not too sure at the mo










as you can see the light spill was a little too much into the room



so i changed the angle which they sit at





also been playing with the aquascape and found that i didnt like any of them till the last one lol





so settled at this one with 2 bommies



their is all sorts of little caves in their so the fish can hide away

thinking of putting either a large toadstall in the middle or go for some substrate corals like the plate's and the cat's

I agree with the last arrangement kb, that looks great. cant believe how bright those lights are though!

Right i finished me sump off



its a small 18x12x15 and fits into the little cupboard under the tank so no modding the stand this time lol

also changed my light unit to an arcadia series 3 unit for £40







got some corals in the tak as well

tried to take out the blue with manual white balance but added a bit too much green to the back ground but it does bring the flouresent out of the corals







and 2 of my little hermits





seems like i have plenty of coraline growth over the rocks and load of little amphipods all over the place

will start the sump up tomorrow afternoon as then that is 48hrs of curing and all should be good

Thats a lovely looking tank kb, I really like the set up, and the overhead lights too.

It's going to look great when it's all finished and the fishies are in.

[002.gif] came across my first problem today found 4 heads of bubble algae so promptly got the affected rock out over the sink and cut the little gits off the rock and rinsed the rock with some fresh salty water just to be safe seems its just a single rock affected so time will tell

right picked up my welcome to stockport gift from gary (clearwater) so thank you kind sir









went and picked some more hermits and snails up on sat









now i am guessing this is a type of coraline it seems to be growing well and also seems to be plating in cirtain area's (ideas if not coraline)







so going steady at the mo so no rush lol

sorted ou the sump fully and now running cheato on reverse cycle and mineral mud going to leave the skimmer on for 2 more days then it comes off for good i hope lol
